If you move the mouse over a visualisation (initially without clicking on anything), three dots appear horizontally on a grey background at the top right. You can now click on these and select the option "Inspect". A tabular view of the data from the visualisation then appears. This can be exported as a CSV.

In many visualisations (e.g. donut charts and certain bar charts) the bars can be clicked. Clicking on the bar opens a menu. There, by clicking on the option "Go to ZORA items", a table of the underlying ZORA publications can be generated. The table can be exported as a CSV file.

In addition to the dashboards included in the Monitor, there are two other dashboards: "ZORA Items" and "Top 100 Authors". To open these, you can click on a bar in an existing chart (e.g. in the donut chart "OA Status" or a specific year in the chart "Number of Documents"). A new menu then appears in which the desired dashboard can be selected.

The dashboard "ZORA Items" shows the publications on which an evaluation is based in a table. This can be exported. The dashboard "Top 100 Authors" shows the authors for whom a selection applies most frequently (e.g. publications with Gold Open Access status in the publication year 2020).

The Academic Reports of the University of Zurich have been based on ZORA since 2008. It can be assumed that all UZH publications have only been entered in ZORA since then. Therefore, a restriction to the years since 2008 seems reasonable.

When clicking on certain elements (e.g. bars) in the visualisation, a menu appears which opens other dashboards. Due to the technical solution chosen, these appear directly in the place of the originally viewed dashboard. There is no redirection to another part of https://www.oamonitor.uzh.ch/.

The search index contains all name variants that occur in publications deposited in ZORA. To get a hit, the name must match exactly - this also applies to upper and lower case letters, punctuation marks and the order of surnames and first names. Searching for "muster max", "Max Muster" or "Muster, Max" will therefore not return a hit. You must search exactly for "Muster M" or "Muster Max".

Alternatively, you can search via the search slot with the following search terms: researcher_search: "surname" AND researcher_search: "first name" - this also works with lower case letters. You can also use researcher_search with your ORCID iD. It is generally recommended to store the ORCID iD in ZORA. This will lead to better search results, especially if there is a second person with the same name.

Bronze Open Access means that a publication is usually only freely accessible on the publisher's website, but does not have a free licence. Subsequent use is therefore limited to read-only access. Furthermore, it is not guaranteed that the publication will continue to be open access in the future. For example, in the context of the Covid 19 pandemic, various publishers have released publications on the topic. However, it is very likely that the articles will be behind a paywall again once the pandemic is over. Since the status can change at any time, it is not open access in the strict sense.

Within the dashboards, all fields available in the index can be selected as filters or entered in the search field. The possibilities are therefore very great. The index also contains various aggregated fields that allow further evaluations.

For example, agg_has_doi could be used to evaluate how high the OA share of publications with a DOI is. Perhaps it would also be interesting to see whether there are publications with the OA status gold (agg_oastatus : "gold") that are deposited in ZORA as closed access (agg_accessrights : "info:eu-repo/semantics/closedAccess") - which of course should ideally not result in a hit, since gold OA publications should always be freely accessible.
